Yayéyram Mercerie — billboard ad
Context
Yayéyram Mercerie is a sewing supplies shop in Zanvi, Lomé, near the Triomphe du Destin playing field. It sells everything needed for sewing: wax print fabrics, buttons, thread spools, ribbons, zippers, tape measures and small accessories. The shop needed a billboard to make itself known in the neighborhood.
Problem
A sewing supplies shop sells hundreds of small items that are hard to show in a single image. The billboard had to make it clear at a glance that everything for sewing is in one place, stay legible from a distance, from the street, and give the address and phone number without cluttering the poster.
Process
- 01
Name and promise
“Yayéyram” in large white calligraphic letters, with a yellow tape measure spiraling next to the Y, “Mercerie” (sewing supplies) just below, then the shop's offer in a burgundy pill.
- 02
Product showcase
A mosaic of photos (wax prints, buttons, spools, ribbons), a vintage sewing machine, a mannequin in a pinstripe jacket, zippers and colorful threads: the shop's whole range in one image.
- 03
Reading order and contact
A blurred green background that evokes the shop's shelves, a large white wave that holds the products, then the address and phone number in green, with a triangle that guides the eye.
- 04
Mockup
A render of the backlit billboard on a street at night, to check the poster's legibility from a distance before printing.
Process reconstructed after the fact, for illustrative purposes.
Solution
A vertical poster that reads from top to bottom: the shop's name, what it sells, the products in pictures, then where to find it and how to call. Green, white and burgundy give a polished image, and the bright colors of the products show the full choice available.

Result
Deliverables: the vertical billboard visual and its mockup on a backlit street billboard.
